A central place where all errors are collected rather than spreading them all over the place seems preferable.

who said anything about spreading them? at this point we have a macro that shows all errors - in InstalledPlugins, but it seems sensible to also provide context appropriate info - informing anyone that browses to an installed plugin's topic / docco, that this macro is actually not active - and if admin&there are errors, to provide them with the info they need to solve the problem in the place where they are actually looking (rather than pretending that they read minds.

either way, I'm not talking about modding the topics - rather using the view templates..

As a compromise, having a view template automatically display enabled/disabled for each extension sounds like a great idea. I think that errors/crashlog should probably remain on InstalledPlugins.
