PublishPlugin: silently ignore non-existent topics

Under the features of PublishPlugin, it lists "Unresolved links to non-existent topics are silently ignored."

When I publish a page with links to non-existent topics, links are not created (good) but the question marks normally shown after the links still remain (bad). Is this normal behaviour or do I have to configured it differently? I'm just using the default settings.

If this is normal behaviour, is there any way to disable it? Or at least make them smaller or a different colour or something? Its fine in the wiki, but in the published version it's confusing and ugly.

It's normal behaviour. The easiest way to change it is to change the new link format in the web. See DefaultPreferences for * Set NEWLINKFORMAT =
