Registration failure

-- MilRabe - 14 Jan 2012

During installation, after running the configure script (without arrors and warnings) I tried to register myself (by UserRegistration topic).

I got the following message:

Foswiki has received a suspicious change request from your browser.

There is a risk that someone may be trying to use your identity to change content on Foswiki without your knowledge.

The same massage was shown after logging in as Admin (using view/Main/AdminUser) and trying to save a new created topic ...

I also wondering, why no Wysiwyg-Editor there was to be seen while creating the new topic ...

Best Regards, Mil

Is javascript blocked in your browser? The "strikeone" protection and Wysiwyg editor both require javascript be enabled in the client.

Javascript is enabled.

It does seem as if there is a problem where Foswiki's javascript is not being executed in your browser. This could be a fault in your browser (have you tried on a different PC?) or it could be an apache (or Foswiki) configuration error - for example, here is a JS file which needs to be accessible from your browser: http://foswiki.org/pub/System/JavascriptFiles/strikeone.js.

Are you able to visit the equivalent file on your own installation via the web browser?

I'm running into this too; JavaScript is enabled, and I can access /pub/System/JavascriptFiles/strikeone.js. Any other guesses?

Following up my own post.

Apparently, the foswiki.conf autogenerator produces a script that doesn't work well with all versions of apache (mine is 2.2.15, on RHEL). Missing from the "" section was the directive "Options +FollowSymLinks". Adding that made everything better.

Where exactly is the "" section in what I presumed to be the foswiki.conf file?
