Group Access controls seem to be broken in Foswiki 1.1.0.
Sorry, just noticed this is the same as
Item9809. Please go there.
I've installed a vanilla 1.1.0 Foswiki on a linux host, registered a new user, logged in as admin user, added a group named TestGroup and added the newly registered user to this group. Then I changed the WebPreferences of the Main Web to only allow Viewing and Editing of the Main Web for the TestGroup user via the ALLOWWEBVIEW and ALLOWWEBCHANGE directives:
After logging out and logging in as the previously registered User, I have no access to the Main web.
Now if I change the ALLOWWEBVIEW setting in the
WebPreferences Topic directly to the registered WikiUser instead of the TestGroup, everything works fine.
I noticed the same behavior with ALLOWTOPICVIEW and ALLOWTOPICCHANGE: Using WikiNames directly works, but if I specify a group name, the members of the group are not given the specified access.
I've configured the Wiki to use the normal TemplateLogin, TopicUserMapping and HtPasswdUser Users. I have not configured or changed anything else besides what I described above from the vanilla installation.
Either I'm missing something really simple or Foswiki 1.1.0 group access controls are seriously broken. Please advise.
