Item9767: IE8 login screen CSS (?) problem

The login screen is quite strange on IE8.

• The backdrop/shadow for the user/pass box is offset incorrectly; instead of a shadow around the whole thing, we see a shadow only in the lower and left-hand sides
• The cursor also appears to be offset with the shadow! IE. When I type, the cursor appears on the previous letter to the one that the 'real' cursor actually is working on.

The first point is cosmetic, but the second point probably needs to be fixed before 1.1.0 is released.

Also, in attaching the first screenshot, I can see that the 'Browse...' button on the attach dialogue seems to be highlighted incorrectly too (always indented?) - maybe related?

Confirmed. This needs quick fixing. Reverting back to what it was will be just fine.

No more improvements in skin please. Release is this weekend. Final release.

This needs to be fixed in a safe non-risky way and tested in all possible browsers we can think of.

Created an alternative (simple border) for IE. No simple fix for the upload button.
