I believe this problem has always existed, rather than something that has been recently found.

Noticed by one of our users, the following table doesn't sort correctly when you click on the date column.

Yes it does; dates with / separators are DD/MM/YYYY, the international date standard. Or were you expecting something different?

Agree with Crawford. The dates sort like most of the world writes dates. We are not going to put US only defaults in Foswiki. Most developers as well as users are in Europe so it would be very wrong to turn Foswiki from internationel mindset into US
