Item778: LdapContrib 2.99.7 breaks groups functionality in TWiki 4.2.3

I have posted this bug on twiki.org too. Since the comunity split I am not sure if (in this case Michael Daum) still watches twiki.org.

Hi, with the latest LdapContrib version 2.99.7 for TWiki 4.2.3, I can no longer restrict access to webs based on TWiki groups (we don't use AD groups, only the TWiki ones). The Users who are part of the groups cann still access a configured web:

* Set ALLOWWEBVIEW = TstGrp

* Set DENYWEBVIEW =

The group TstGrp contains only one User (in this case mine, comming from the active directory "StefanNicolin"). With the settings posted above I can still see and access the configured web.

Another indication for an error is a broken display of the group list. TWikiGroups sections shows the first group "TWikiAdminGroup" and only the string ARRAY(0x88adc18).

Hi Stefan, this was a known issue which has been fixed while porting LdapContrib to Foswiki. Please try the latest Foswiki+LdapContrib.

Hi Michael. Thanks for the reply. This is kind of a dead end for me since I can't upgrade to Foswiki right now. Is there ANY chance for a backport? That would be really helpful. Since I am not the only one still runing TWiki 4.2.3 I will update the LdapContrib Plugin description on TWiki.org and include a warning for the time being (if it's ok for you).
