Item2324: label for search type on advanced search is wrong
Priority: Urgent
Current State: Closed
Released In: 1.0.10
Target Release: patch
Applies To: Engine
Component:
Branches:
Have look on
http://www.foswiki.org/System/WebSearchAdvanced:
search type ist labeled
- Topic name
- Literal search
- Regular expression search
- Query Search
I think
Topic name is wrong and has to be named to
Word search
Also in the translation file locale\xx.po the entry
%MAKETEXT{"Topic name"}%
is used for type="..." and sort="..." but there is possibility to correct only the type= Entry.

addendum:
I'm missing the
type="keyword" option in the
WebSearchAdvanced-Form.

Rather than
Word Search I think I would prefer
Text Search, as it is more accurate (search can do partial-word matching).
Unfortunately I don't know what the process is for improving documentation, or I would check this in for you.

I got confused what you meant. It is the labels at "Make search". Which is very cryptic in itself. Make it, what?

Yeah, as I understand it we would change Topic Name at the "Make Search" section, which as you say is also not ideal.

I believe there is something that was mixed up last time this page was changed . Topic name does not belong to this set of options. Need to invesrigate this more and look at last changes.

for clarification: I don't want to propose a change of the topic name
WebSearchAdvanced. But in this topic the label "topic name" for the search type="word" is very unclear and a search type="keyword" is not selectable.

Uprating to Urgent for 1.1 because this sort of thing makes a bad impression and should be trivial to fix.

I can see this has been addressed already in 1.0.9. Closing.
