Item2017: NatEditPlugin's upload does not work properly
Priority: Normal
Current State: Closed
Released In:
Target Release: n/a
Today, I've installed
NatEditPlugin under Foswiki 1.0.6 (using
PatternSkin) together with its dependencies (
UploadPlugin,
JQueryPlugin and
SetVariablePlugin). The editor seems to work fine (btw, I didn't have to
Set SKIN = natedit,pattern
in order to get the editor working; it just took over my raw edit - which is fine for me). However, when I tried to use the upload button, the first tab shows a continually spinning icon under
Existing Files
.
The second tab seems to be broken as well, as
more
and
less
are just showing up as text and are not clickable. There are also strange lines across the pop-up window.
The upload itself seems to work fine but I can't create a text link to it as the file never shows up in the
Insert
tab.
A side-note: On
Sandbox.PluginTestJQueryPlugin
the error console shows the following error:
$ is not a function
. To me this doesn't seem to be related as this error message isn't shown when using
NatEditPlugin in the example above. Just thought I'd mention it.
I will kick out the Sandbox examples and replace them with proper docu+demo in the System web.
Please have a look at the firebug console while you upload. It shows the ajax calls that are going to the server. Click on one and open it in a separate tab. See what happens there.
Look out for any javascript errors.
For now natedit works best with
NatSkin. That's where it is developed primarily.

Just to keep all the information in one place:
NatEditPlugin depends on
RenderPlugin (>=3.0) as well as
DBCachePlugin which in turn depends on
DBCacheContrib and some CPAN modules.
