The current Debian postinst in core/tools/pkg/debian/ enables a module provided by libapache2-mod-auth-plain, but didn't have a Debian dependency on that package. The name of the module also changed between Ubuntu/dapper and more current releases. This patch (to be added in a moment) tries to enable the module under both names, but continues without installation failure if they can't. It also adds a weaker Suggests: for the Debian package that provides the auth module.
