Problem

The content generated with PublishPlugin is not very user friendly, regarding the navigation:

  • published as PDF:
    • there is no table of contents and the pages don't carry the name of the original topic
    • internal links to other pages inside the pdf are working, but not highlighted
  • published as html:
    • WebTopicList is not working as expected
    • WebIndex looks much different from what it looks like originally

Solution

There should be an index dreated during export (when publishing a web), maybe with an implemented search function and topic summaries. This could be named index.html, which would simplify it even more. An integration of WebLeftBar might help as well.

Regarding PDF export: maybe one could copy some code from GenPDFAddOn, where a TOC is created.
The plugin just does what it says on the tin. If you include a wiki page that has a TOC on it, then that's what you'll get in the output.

I don't believe that the plugin should do any more than it does.
