Item1598: feature request: TOC or Index for published webs
Priority: Enhancement
Current State: No Action Required
Released In:
Target Release: n/a
Problem
The content generated with
PublishPlugin is not very user friendly, regarding the navigation:
- published as PDF:
- there is no table of contents and the pages don't carry the name of the original topic
- internal links to other pages inside the pdf are working, but not highlighted
- published as html:
- WebTopicList is not working as expected
- WebIndex looks much different from what it looks like originally
Solution
There should be an index dreated during export (when publishing a web), maybe with an implemented search function and topic summaries. This could be named
index.html
, which would simplify it even more. An integration of
WebLeftBar might help as well.
Regarding PDF export: maybe one could copy some code from
GenPDFAddOn, where a TOC is created.
The plugin just does what it says on the tin. If you include a wiki page that has a TOC on it, then that's what you'll get in the output.
I don't believe that the plugin should do any more than it does.
