I installed today the plugin and solr following the instructions at SolrPlugin#Download_Solr. First I tried it with solr's version (8.7.0), but it didn't work, because there are some parts of the Foswiki-config-set that are not supported anymore since Solr 7.0. With solr 6.6.6 everything works fine.

Please follow the installation instructions strictly, i.e. use solr-5.5.5, as per now. Later solr versions will be supported soon.
