/foswiki/bin/rename using NatSkin doesn't have an option to move a topic to a new parent/child topic -- CarlEastman - 14 May 2014

Hi Carl,

that's not part of the Rename/Move dialog which is solely used to change the topic name or move it to another web.

However I can see what you are aiming at: reparenting a topic in the sense of "moving" it in a physical space. Similarly changing a topic's category using ClassificationPlugin could be thought of as changing the "location" of a topic, however using more dimensions.

Current thinking is that changing a topic-parent (or the list of categories a topic is filed to) is more a change of properties of the topic itself done in the edit dialog.

So to change the parent topic edit the topic and see the Settings tab. Or select one or more categories from the taxonomy tree in the Categories tab when using ClassificationPlugin.

Michael,

Thanks for the tip, I didn't know the change topic parent was in the settings tab. That worked.
