Well, this is deja-vu!

The configure regex checker had one of my otherwiki fixes ported quite a while ago.

Unfortunately, the effect of doing it differently was to neuter the checker. The intent was to fetch the value of a config item. The effect was to create the name but not do the fetch. Sigh. Different is OK - but please test!

(It's amazing what you find when you can put a config item into configure, click "validate this", and get sub-second feedback. Yes, a shameless plug.)

I'll commit a fix for this to trunk.
