Item11978: ImageGalleryPlugin does not work with VirtualHostingContrib
Priority: Urgent
Current State: No Action Required
Released In: n/a
Target Release: n/a
The
ImageGalleryPlugin defaults to looking in BASEDIR/pub/images/ for its thumbnails, but when using
VirtualHostingContrib it looks like the thumbnails are going to BASEDIR/virtualhosts/SITENAME/pub/images/TOPICWEB/TOPICNAME/1/thumb_* .

Hi Harlan, which
VirtualHostingContrib version are you using? Try to use the fixes that I provided to it checked in to subversion. I may have to take over maintenance of this extension as Antonio doesn't seem to have time for it anymore.
In any case: I am using
ImageGalleryPlugin +
VirtualHostingContrib every day without a problem. So I wonder what exactly goes wrong in your case: are the urls wrong so that you don't see any images at all, or does the code try to read the raw images from the wrong location on disk?
Also: do you have viewfile in place to protect your attachments?

Michael, the photos are going in to BASEIR/virtualhosts/SITENAME/... and the apache error log complains because apache is looking for them in BASEDIE/pub/images/ . Our InstalledPlugins page says we're running 9826 (2010-11-02) of the VHC beast.

I don't recall if we have a viewfile in place or not, but the site is only available to registered users, and visitors cannot register themselves.

Yea and I am using the svn/trunk one.
I am going to prepare a new
VirtualHostingContrib release so that we talk about the same thing.

There's a new release out there. Have a try.

OK, upgraded. I had to manually create .../foswiki/virtualhosts/DOMAIN/working/logs/ but after I did that the sites came back up.
It's 0215 here - I'll test more if I can tonight, otherwise I'll test more tomorrow. Thanks, Michael!

And the upgraded installation still searches for images in the main website as described in my 03 Jul comment. Also, the images are not ordered as expected. They display in the order they were uploaded in spite of my using what I thought was the correct numbering scheme in the comment. (This is not new - it behaved this way before the upgrade, which is no surprise because I upgraded VHC, not IGP.)

Aaah: your vhost configuration in apache is broken.

Is there an example somewhere for me to compare against? The VHC sites seem to be working fine otherwise.
