Problems with renaming Main Web

Hey folks!

I simply want to rename the Main Web to a custom name which fits better with our installation. But after renaming the web via the link in web preferences suddenly my user is not recognized any longer as logged in and with that all the access rights are lost. However I was able to rename the web back to Main logging in as super admin! There seem more behind renaming the main web as just simply changing the name in web preferences. What other steps do I have to consider?

Any hint highly appreciated.

Did you set the $Foswiki::cfg{UsersWebName} = 'Main'; in LocalSite.cfg It's also configurable as an expert parameter in bin/configure. Click the "Yes I've read all the documentation" button.

Note that installing extensions after renaming the default Webs might have issues if the extension installs any topics into Main. It's been hopefully improved quite a bit in the upcoming 1.1.

Thanks for the real quick answer. Could not come back on you as soon as I wanted because in the company I cannot post on foswiki.org. Something necessary seems to be enabled by our admins.

I did not set the variable in the config. But this was exactly what I was looking for. However due to problems that might result from renaming the main web I did not change the name of the web.
