Problem receiving newsletter is subscribed to all topics

In testing a newsletter, I can't seem to get sent the newsletter if I'm subscribed to all topics with the *.

I only receive the topic change notification.

I'd hoped putting the asterisk later (at the end of the line), or in a second entry lower in the notifications list. No such luck.

I also tried separate cron tasks with a -nochanges that ran first and then a -nonews that ran later.

Then I actually looked at the mailercrontrib output and noticed that it "intelligently" reduces anything on my WebNotify entry to * if it occurs on the line.

So I added an entry higher up with my email address rather than my Wiki name, for the newsletter subscription. That doesn't work seemingly because in the cron tab output it processed all the wikinames first, then the email addresses.

I tried groups where an admin group was subscribed to * (I'm in that group), and a test staff group subscribed to the newsletter.

But MailerContrib is too clever for that and still reduced that to

* %MAIN.CraigBowers: *

and does not send the formatted newsletter, only the topic change notification

Bottom line: So then, how does a WikiAdmin see all changes but still receive newsletters?
Ah. Tsk. I guess one raises a task to get this behaviour change (preferably with a patch that fixes it).
