Problem with authentication and Windows 7

Dear,

I'm with the following problem between Windows 7 and foswiki authentication:

When I try access the Foswiki in my intranet appear a logon box (Windows security), I enter with my password and after three times I receive the message under:

Authorization Required

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Additionally, a 401 Authorization Required error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Just happen in windows 7 client, in others windows clients, XP, 2003 and Vista it's ok.

Thanks.
that's pretty odd :/ for the short time I was using windows7 I didnt' experience this when using foswiki with apache authentication.

I guess we need more information about both your server and clients

server side

  • are you in fact using apache?
  • is it configured to use basic auth (easiest way for us to see some details is to attach the foswiki portion of your apache conf file)

client side

  • which browser & version? internet explorer, firefox, chrome? have you tried a different browser on those sytems?
