This question about Using an extension: Answered

Is the Browser Booster Plugin still useful?

I want some feedback on this plugin: http://foswiki.org/Extensions/BrowserBoosterPlugin.

The documentation for this says that this handles an issue with Firefox 2 and some latency issues in the network. Currently, we have Firefox 3.5.7, hence the first point is not valid anymore. Right?

Has anybody got significant improvements using this plugin?

Depends... smile

If you can configure mod_expire (or the like) on your webserver, you probably dont need this plugin anymore. mod_expire sets a best before date on each served file. Local caching works better with that enabled / customized. Not fetching js/css files from the webserver is faster than any boosted-fetching. If you cannot make use of such a technology and you are in a high latency environment, you still can improve using this plugin.
