How to upgrade from TWiki 4.2 to Foswiki

I'm a TWiki administrator for a customer I'm working for and we upgraded to the last version just before the Foswiki's fork.

We are now considering to move to Foswiki, both we are afraid of what will happen with the TWiki support/development and I don't agree the TWiki.net strategies and behaviors.

So we would like to share our experience providing all the needed information with the Foswiki information, except, of course any possible sensible infos related to the customer.

The installation consist of:

  1. SunOS 5.9 Generic_122300-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240 Solaris
  2. Apache Web Server 2.2.4.
  3. MySQL Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.22 (used as back-end for the authentication by Apache)
  4. TWiki 4.2.3
  5. Perl v5.8.7

First of all, which other informations I should provide to have a clear idea of how we should proceed?
I think you have covered most of the bases. You should focus on anything "non-standard" i.e things that are require additional extensions to be installed, such as the highlight plugin and kino. Of particular interest are the CPAN module versions you use, especially if you find one that doesn't work; this can be important information for an upgrader. You should also document the Foswiki extensions versions, as extensions can be released out of synch with the Foswiki core.
