How to find Backlinks from links in macros

I've created a simple macro in my SitePreferences which has a link to another page, e.g. %XYZ% creates "Now go to linkedpage". When I go to that topic linkedpage, and choose "backlinks", there are no pages listed linking to that page. But since the macro is used on many pages, there are pages linking ot it.

Question: How can I make that work?

The "backlinks" search searches for actual topic references contained in topics to the linked page. Your macro renders as the link but the topic reference itself is not in the topic. You could search for your macro string (e.g. XYZ) which should return all topics containing that macro which, if I understand you correctly, should serve the same purpose.
