JonathanManning Would Like to Check-in

Who am I?

A bioinformaticist working at the University of Edinburgh, interested in the use of wikis based on Foswiki to create small collections of very detailed knowledge around particular biological systems.

What do I want?

write access to SVN for the following branches:

wikiplugins

What can I do?

Masters and PhD in bioinformatics, with quite a bit of experience of (but limited formal training in) perl. Other miscellaneous skills- web dev, technical writing etc.

Why do I want to do it?

Right now I would like access to the SVN repo so that I can properly package my extension (a sort of aggregator and wiki 'seeder' for biological data, plus some utility functions) with BuildContrib. I was previously building within TWiki, until the fork (this work was published recently), and now have a new version under development in Foswiki.

I will at some point upload the code for examination and improvement, but it wouldn't stand up to scrutiny from proper coders currently!

Questions and Comments

i'd love to see your work ported to Foswiki! in fact, i had actually started the task of porting BioKbPlugin (http://www.bioinf.mvm.ed.ac.uk/twiki/bin/view/TWiki/BioKbPlugin), but subversion and network connections have been conspiring against me... :/

Thanks guys. I'm pretty sure my new version is a significant improvement in function, and will get round to documenting and tidying the code.
