BryanThale Would Like to Check-in
Who am I?
I'm a software engineer with Motorola Mobile Devices where I'm a member of the Motorola Open Source Technologies Team. We don't actually build phones ourselves but rather enable other engineers to do so by operating and supporting a suite of 18 or so web-based, open source collaboration tools used by roughly 45k Motorolans globally. One of those tools being TWiki-cum-Foswiki.
What do I want?
write access to
SVN for the following branches:
Core
wikiplugins
What can I do?
Plug-in development and maintenance
Documentation (English, well, American anyway)
The usual suspects:
HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, XML, Perl, Apache,
SVN, RCS
Not exactly Foswiki related:
PHP, SQL, Java, JSP, Tomcat, EmbPerl, CVS
I've been working with web-based technologies since '94 or '95 and TWiki since 2005. I worked on upgrading our installation from Cairo to Dakar, implemented the skin we use internally, and worked on our internal extensions to TWiki as well as debugging external plug-ins as necessary.
Why do I want to do it?
I'm upgrading our installation from TWiki (Edinburgh) to Foswiki 1.0.9 and there are a number of plug-ins that we use that haven't been ported to Foswiki as yet. I'd like to get those plug-ins ported so we can make a clean break from TWiki. I wasn't originally going to request access to the core but I can already see some modifications tending to lead in that direction, so I may as well go all in. Primarily, though, I intend to stay in the shallow end of the pool and confine myself to working on plug-ins.
