Handling the fork issue

Isaac, I completely agree. It is a complete no-no to change someone else's comment. I have changed the intro at the top of the page to make this very clear. I transferred the comment, word for word, from the HalfBakedBlog page and it is possible that someone may have changed the earlier comment (which I presume was posted by you) before I transferred it. If this is the case then it would probably be easiest for you to post a new comment on this page.

I'd just like to re-iterate the importance of Talk pages. I believe that we should use this system as a matter of course because it needs to be made clear to community members the difference between factored content (which people should be encouraged to change) and discussion (which people should add to but should not refactor). If you agree, I invite you to start create Talk pages for other pages in this wiki. Thanks. -- MichaelCorbett - 13 November 2008 - 09:20

I refactored the text of the original page, which was not a discussion page. I didn't make a comment; AFAIK nobody did. I refactored a page. Then Michael moved part of that refactoring here and attributed it to me as a comment. Easy mistake to make; let's not get precious about it.
